My pet deer

Our new house is in the woods, and thus I have some new pets!
Every few days a family of four deer come walking through our backyard.
There is a momma and three babies. Sometimes the daddy shows up,
but he seems to be a bit of loner. Mom and I like to take pictures
of them, and Dad and I sit on the back porch and watch them eat.
I'm thinking of naming them.... got any suggestions?

Now can you see my teeth???

Mom got a better picture of my teeth!
Granted, she had to snap these right before I started
to have a meltdown.
Happy New Year!

All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth....

A big change has been occurring lately....

I've been drooling a lot!

I've been chewing on my tongue.

I'm also into sucking on my bottom lip.

And I've been chewing on everything!
Here I am biting the exer-saucer.

Gnawing on my Christmas presents.

Even trying to eat Camden!

All because I am getting my first two teeth!
You have to look real close and you can see a tiny tooth on the bottom!

Mom promises to post a better picture as soon as she can get a close-up
(not easy!).

Visiting in Savannah

Before I got in the car to head home,
I had to have a few more visits with my peeps.
Here I am with Nana and Dad.

Aunt Donna stopped by too!

And we took a family pic with "Go-Go" and "Dah-da" (Cornelia & Mike).

Thanks for a great first Christmas!

Christmas in Savannah

What a whirlwind of activity we've had lately.
After arriving in Savannah, I met my cousin Eliza.

On Christmas Eve, Dad and Camden told me all about Santa Claus.
I got really excited for all of the presents!

Dad read to me "Twas the Night Before Christmas," and then I fell asleep.
But I was up very, very early.

And I got some presents from Santa!
However, I was more interested in eating the wrapping paper.

I got all dressed up to go to Nana's house for Christmas lunch.

Aunt Shelley gave me a lot of Duke gear!
I liked it a lot, but I bet my Uncle Sam will not!

I hung out with Nana for a bit too.

It was a great Christmas, but I think my Dad was more into my toys than I was!

Road trippin

This week we packed up the car and headed south!
I got a new car seat and Camden sat next to me.

Sometimes Camden put his head out the window for some fresh air.

We stopped for lunch and I sat in my first restaurant high chair...
it was a little big and Mom had to stick a towel behind me so I wouldn't
fall out! I ordered a drink from the menu. Just kidding.

We stopped in Raleigh for one night to see my cousin, Brenden.

He let me play in his bouncy.

Thanks Erin for letting us stay at your house!

Winter Wonderland

Washington got its first snow last Thursday. It was crazy!
Dad got me all dressed up and we went outside to play.

Then we decided to go on an adventure in Virginia,
and see all of the Christmas lights.

Once again I was bundled up and we got in the
car with Aunt Ma, Uncle Ta, and Mags!

There were lots of rides, but I am still too small.
Maggie and Aunt Ma went on the merry-go-round.

We all went on the Ferris Wheel together. Aunt Ma was a bit scared!

It was so much fun, I can't wait to go again next year!

New friends

I've been busy meeting new friends.
Last week Mom and Dad's friends from Brooklyn came to visit!
We went for Indian food and caught up with Eddie and Sarah.

I can't wait to visit them in New York!

And this week Dad's friend Nikki came for a visit.
She is a buddy from Dad's college, and now she lives in Hollywood.
She is super awesome. In addition to playing with me, she helped Mom
and Dad pack for our big road trip to Savannah! Thanks Nikki!

Here I am with Nikki, showing her one of my new faces:
sucking on my lower lip.

Rice cereal?

Last night Mom and Dad put me in this weird chair
and tried to feed me something that wasn't formula!

First I had some water. That was new.

Then they shoved this junk in my mouth!

Dad tried to take my mind off it and told me a joke...

But then he fed me more rice cereal. It was sorta gross.

The verdict is still out on this one.

I LOVE MY EXER-SAUCER!!!

I've decided that an exer-saucer is the best toy ever. You can bounce or jump, pull on things, push on stuff, and my favorite .... try to eat it. Attention all babies: get yourself an exer-saucer. You won't regret it. Love, Sam.
