First day of school

Today was the first day of school at
"Brown House."

Dad woke me up early to get me ready!

I grabbed all of my school supplies . . .

and helped Mom load the car.
Isn't my new backpack awesome?
(Thanks Aunt Meg!)

Off to school we go!
I had so much fun today that I never
even took a nap!

Last day of summer break

Another disaster this week! I experienced my
first hurricane... Irene.
Luckily, she didn't slow me down for long and
on Sunday I went out to inspect the damage.

Apparently the Washington Monument got a
little beat up after an earthquake and a hurricane...
what do you think?

Then I went exploring through the butterfly garden
at the Museum of Natural History.

I love nature!

Mom and Dad took me to see some dinosaur bones,
but I pooped out early after a busy afternoon!

I love the national mall!

First haircut

I got my first haircut today.

First, I sat on Mom's lap at the barber shop.

A nice lady was very gentle with me and gave me a trim.

I didn't like sitting in the chair so we finished the cut standing.

EARTHQUAKE!!!

On Tuesday I was sleeping peacefully in my crib for an afternoon nap
when suddenly my mom came running into my room and swooped
me up in her arms! Our entire house was shaking so we ran outside!

Turns out I just lived through my first earthquake....
a 5.8 on the Richter scale!

I wasn't scared at all, but Mom certainly was.
A few things fell over.
Exciting!

Cousin Reunion!

When I went to Michigan I had a reunion with my cousin Olivia!
We played hard.

Together we spent a lot of time in the sandbox.

When we got tired we would sit down and relax.

Olivia liked Camden a lot.

We took some fun boat rides together...

and looked at the motor. It is really loud.

Olivia taught me how to do row row row your boat!

Aunt Meg sang lots of songs to me,

and big Uncle Sam let me drive the boat some more.

And as always, we posed for lots of group shots!

Yes Michigan!

Michigan is a great state. There are lots of things to do there.

Little Long Lake has many wonderful outdoor activities!

I spent a lot of time playing in the sandbox.

And swimming in the lake.

Grampa Jim took me to look at ducks and for rides on his boat.

Sometimes I even got to drive.

Gramma Tiny got this awesome sprinkler to play in!

Oh, and blueberry pancakes are the most delicious!

Mom and Dad took me to the Binder Park Zoo
where I fed a giraffe!

Dad and Gramma Tiny took me to a dairy farm
and I sat on a cow . . . not a real cow!

And one day Mom and Grampa went fishing . . .

and Mom caught a fish nearly as big as me!
It was so slimy.

We also went hiking on beautiful trails.
Dad carries me on his back and gets quite the workout.

And I spent a lot of time on Grammy's lap
and she sang songs about frogs....
gong gong!

Ahh, pure Michigan!

Roadtrip!

In August I took a roadtrip to the midwest.
It included stops in Ohio to see friends of Mom and Dad,
and ten days in Michigan with my grandparents.

On the way there, I was . . . "hot in Cleveland!"

I played with Ryan and Noah at their house.

Mom and Dad are friends with their mom and dad, Kelly & Darren.

Then we landed in Michigan for ten fun days with family!
Check out my other posts for lots of great pix.

On the way home we stopped in Springfield, Ohio at Jamie & Cameron's house.
I had a sleepover party with Ellie, Henry, and Charley.

We tried to take a group pic, but we were having too much fun to sit still!

Birthday Party

My first birthday was pretty cool . . .
well, actually it was quite hot. But we made the most of it!
Mom and Dad threw me a little shindig in the park near our house.
Some of my friends from school came and they
ran around the playground with me!

We had cake too!

It was so good!

So good that I had to let all of my friends help me eat it!

I was happy that Andrew came and we played a lot together.

And lucky to have my Grandparents and Great Aunts visiting from Georgia.
